Reproduction Doors
Period-correct front and internal doors copied from the original mouldings of your street.
Nothing dates a period house faster than a modern flush door in a Victorian opening. We take a template from an original door — yours, or a neighbour's if yours is long gone — and reproduce the panel layout, moulding profile and stile widths in solid hardwood.
Copied, not approximated
We record panel proportions, bolection or ovolo mouldings, rail depths and glazing bar sections, then cut the joinery to match. Mortice-and-tenon frames, not dowels.
Conservation-area work is our normal week; we are used to preparing drawings for planning officers.
Timber and finish
Front doors in oak, mahogany or accoya-grade softwood for stability; internal doors often in beech or walnut where they are being stained rather than painted.
Supplied primed and ready for site paint, or hand-finished in the workshop in a colour of your choosing.
What we can reproduce
- Four and six-panel Victorian front doors
- Georgian six-over-six glazed entrance doors
- Edwardian doors with stained or etched glass panels
- Matching side lights, fanlights and thresholds
